Luck and Taliaferro also were charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime. They are being held in the Charleston County jail.

Reid was found at 11:30 p.m. at 78 Ashley Hall Plantation Road. He had been shot in the head, and he died six days later at a hospital, according to authorities.

Reid had other injuries as well, including a cut on his right knee and some bruising on his face, according to a supplemental incident report.

A cigarette lighter, a cellphone and earphones were found near Reid, who went by the name “Banger,” the report stated. Folded cash was in his hand, according to the report.

Investigators also found two guns in the bushes directly in front of the apartment where Reid was living with his aunt and cousin, the report stated. Authorities also found some marijuana in front of the apartment.

Reid’s mother had died when he was young and he began staying with his aunt, Annette Mclendon, at the Ashley Oaks apartment. She told investigators that she used to make Reid leave the apartment when she went to work and that he did not have a key, the report stated. She did not know much about Reid’s friends, according to the report.

One witness reported hearing an argument coming from the area where the shooting occurred and later heard the gunshots, according to the report.

A witness also reported hearing someone say “Take that” just before gunshots sounded, the report stated.

Other witnesses told police they saw a man hanging out with Reid before the shooting, according to the supplemental report.

Investigators found a gun under the mattress that Reid would sleep on, the report stated. Reid shared the room with his brother, according to the report.
