Alexis Ann Deas, 14, (left) of Jefferson, has not been seen since Friday morning at school. Authorities believe her stepfather, (right) Harland Donnell Martin, 43, took her from school and that they may be heading toward Texas in a black 1999 Nissan Maxima.

The S.C. Law Enforcement Division has issued an Amber Alert for a 14-year-old girl.

Alexis Ann Deas was last seen about 10 a.m. at New Heights Middle School in Jefferson on Friday, according to the alert.

She is white, with brown, shoulder-length hair and blue eyes. She is 5 feet 2 inches tall, 125 pounds and was wearing blue jeans and a blue jacket with the word Aeropostale on the sleeve, the Amber Alert said.

He is thought to be with her stepfather, Harland Donnell Melton, a 43-year-old white man with green eyes, short hair and a full beard. He is 5 feet 10 inches tall, 150 pounds.

They were thought to be traveling in a 1999 Nissan Maxima painted black, with S.C. license plate IUF-593. They may be heading toward Texas.

Anyone who see either of these people, or the vehicle, should call 911 immediately, or call the Chesterfield County Sheriff’s Office at 843-623-2101 or 843-623-6838.
