Adopted son to be sentenced after 2012 shooting death of West Ashley woman

Walker Pinkleton

The adopted son of a slain West Ashley woman is facing 30 years to life in prison after pleading guilty to killing her.

Walker Pinkleton, 23, was set to go to trial Monday morning, but pleaded guilty to murder Friday, according to Ninth Circuit Solicitor Scarlett Wilson. He will be sentenced Monday.

Pinkleton is the adopted son and biological grandson of 59-year-old Patricia Walker, who was found shot to death Oct. 14, 2012, in their home at 958 Orange Grove Road. An autopsy estimated that Walker was shot in the head sometime a day or two before she was found.
