The daily admission fee at four Charleston County parks is rising from $1 to $2 per person starting Oct. 1.
The increase will happen at James Island County Park, Mount Pleasant Palmetto Islands County Park, North Charleston Wannamaker County Park and Caw Caw Interpretive Center.
“This is the first time the park admission fee has changed since we started charging in 1979. The rate change is aimed to help support the continued maintenance and safety of the parks while still allowing them to remain an excellent value for the community,” the park system said in a statement.
The prices for annual Gold Passes will stay the same.
