ANDERSON — An Anderson man arrested and accused of making and selling pipe bombs is facing a federal indictment.

Federal prosecutors said Tuesday 54-year-old Richard Michael Odell had been indicted on a charge of unlawfully possessing a destructive device.

Odell was arrested last month by Anderson County sheriff’s deputies and agents from the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. Authorities said they found Odell at his home with two pipe bombs.

Investigators said they found a third device under construction and found materials that could be used to make more bombs. Authorities said Odell was selling the bombs in exchange for crack cocaine.

Odell faces up to 10 years in prison and $10,000 in fines if he is convicted.
