An international company is planning to establish a flexible workspace site in Aiken.
It will be located at 900 Trail Ridge Road, according to a news release issued by IWG on Nov. 29.
The flexible workspace will be approximately 15,000 square feet in size and will be based in the existing 44,040-square-foot building.
Facilities will include private offices, meeting rooms and coworking and collaboration areas.
“A host of tech services” also will be available, the release stated.
IWG also is planning to establish a new flexible workspace in Columbia as well as others in North Carolina in Durham, Raleigh and Shelby.
The workspaces will be known as Regus centers.
The center in Aiken is scheduled to open during the first quarter of 2023.
It will be operated “as a managed partnership with a local partner who is the leaseholder,” according to information provided by an IWG spokesperson.
“IWG and its operating brands, including Regus, Spaces and HQ, are rapidly expanding across both the U.S. and globally to meet the growing demand for hybrid work solutions,” wrote the spokesperson in an email sent to the Aiken Standard on Nov. 30. “New locations are opening in towns and cities of all sizes, providing businesses and their employees a professional place to work on their doorsteps as well as the opportunity to tap into the world’s largest network of flexible workspaces when they need to. Aiken has a growing business community and there is a strong demand for hybrid working solutions.”
According to the release, “the new locations in Shelby and Aiken will serve the growing number of people who have relocated to suburban locations for a better work-life balance.”
The offices of Tetra Tech, a consulting and engineering services company, formerly were located in the building at 900 Trail Ridge Road.
IWG has more than 1,000 flexible workspace sites in the U.S, the release stated. There also are more than 3,000 locations in more than 120 other countries.
