Georgia man charged with domestic violence for alleged assault in Aiken

A Georgia man has been charged with third degree domestic violence following an alleged assault that occurred in Aiken County.

According to reports from the Aiken County Sheriff's Department, William Gay, of Appling, entered the victim's residence and became aggressive, going so far as to pour a drink over the victim's head and do damage to the property where the incident occurred.

When the victim fled the residence, Gay followed and reportedly shoved her to the ground, kicking the victim several times.

Neighbors heard the victim's calls for help and separated the two. Gay allegedly damaged the victim's vehicle before fleeing the residence.

Deputies responded to the residence and observed injuries on the victim and property damage the victim claimed had occurred during the incident.
