Mrs. Timothy Hugh Gaymon, Jr.

(Anna Smith Yarborough)

Anna Smith Yarborough of Charlotte, NC and Timothy Hugh Gaymon, Jr. of Charlotte, NC were married on Saturday, Feb. 1, 2020 at Crane Cottage at the historic Jekyll Island Club Resort in Jekyll Island, GA.

The Reverend Megan Augustine Boatwright of Knoxville, TN officiated at the wedding. Reverend Boatwright is the wife of Brandon Boatwright, the bride's first cousin.

The bride, formerly of Edgefield, SC, is the daughter of Herbert and Susan Yarborough. She is a maternal granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank Boyce Boatwright, Jr. and a paternal granddaughter the late Mr. and Mrs. William Glenn Yarborough. Mary Caroline Yarborough of Charlotte, NC, sister of the bride, was the Maid of Honor.

The groom is the son of Hugh and Susan Gaymon of Sumter, SC. He is a maternal grandson of Mrs. Sarah Dixon and the late Mr. Donzalee Dixon and a paternal grandson of Mr. and Mrs. James Timothy Gaymon and Mrs. Judy Wells Russell. The groom's father, Timothy Hugh Gaymon, Sr., was Best Man.

The wedding was held outside in the formal Sunken Garden adjacent to Crane Cottage at the Jekyll Island Club Resort. As her jewelry for the wedding, the bride chose to wear an antique gold locket that had been a gift to her from her aunt, the late Dr. Bessie (Tina) Rainsford Yarborough. Previously, the locket had been a gift from Anna’s great-great-grandfather James Carroll Rainsford to his bride, Bessie Allen Thomson, in the late 1800’s.

Following a champagne reception at sunset on Crane Cottage's riverfront lawn, the wedding celebrations continued with dinner and dancing. The couple's celebration included a group photo with the Clemson Tiger rag, since they met at Clemson University and have many family members and friends that are also Clemson graduates.

The couple honeymooned in the Dominican Republic. Upon their return, Anna and Tim were happily greeted in Sumter, which will be their new residence, by Tim's pet Weimaraner, Goose.

The bride is a graduate of Wardlaw Academy and of Clemson University. After earning her BS from Clemson, Anna has also earned her RN as well as BS in Nursing. Anna plans to continue her nursing career.

The groom is a graduate of Wilson Hall Academy and of Clemson University. He was employed in Charlotte, NC with Thompson Industrial Services. With his return to his hometown of Sumter, SC, Tim will continue in Human Resource management with the company.
