An airplane with 41 passengers made an emergency landing at Charleston International Airport on Sunday night.

It returned to Charleston about an hour after it departed from the same airport because of problems with its landing gear.

Delta Flight 5391 departed at 6:27 p.m. for Cincinnati and landed safely at 7:31 p.m., according to a release from the Charleston County Aviation Authority.

Charleston EMS responded, but was not needed.

The plane's nose gear door would not close, said Warren Woodberry, spokesman for the Federal Aviation Administration in Atlanta.
