Car Show Calendar

• Mopar clubs weekly “Meet & Greets” will be 7-11 p.m. at Sonic Drive-Ins, 660 College Park Road in Goose Creek and 9101 University Blvd. in North Charleston. Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, AMC and related cars and trucks are welcome.

• Lowcountry Motor Club, an informal association of car and modding aficionados in the Charleston area, will meet weekly 10-11 p.m. at the Mount Pleasant Pier, 71 Harry Hallman Blvd. Most of the cars are late model imports but anyone is welcome. Go to www.facebook.com/groups/LMCrace/.

• S.C. Rhinos presents “Light It Up 2 Kids Car & Bike Show” at the plasma center, 3725 Rivers Ave. in North Charleston across from the Naval Hospital. Meet at 7:30 p.m., ride out at 8 p.m. Participants show off for the kids and pass out school supplies. Everyone’s welcome.

• Charleston Cars & Coffee, a free weekly cruise-in, will take place 8-11 a.m. in front of Atlanta Bread Co. in Mount Pleasant Towne Centre.

• The weekly, informal Porsche Club of America-Palmetto Region breakfast will be 8-9:30 a.m. at Sunflower Cafe, 2366 Ashley River Road in Charleston.

• Bessinger’s Bar-B-Q will host its monthly Open Car, Truck & Motorcycle Show 6-9 p.m. at the restaurant at 1602 Savannah Highway west of the Ashley. Registration is $5. There are three trophies per class. Categories include cars for years 1942 and earlier, ’43-’59, ’60-’71 and ’72-2016; street rods; trucks; and motorcycles. The Cruise-O-Matics provide music. • A car show will be held 1-7 p.m. at Seacoast Church off Long Point Road in Mount Pleasant. There’s a $5 fee for car entry into the show and $10 vendor fee per space. Spectators are free. Food and beverages will be available.

• The next quarterly Lowcountry Shine & Swapp will be 10 a.m. to 2 p.m at Coastal Carolina Flea Market in Ladson. The “Anything on Wheels” automotive browse fest hosted by the Lowcountry Mopars auto enthusiast group promotes the car collectors hobby, plus benefits children with cancer through the local Camp Happy Days charity. There will be vendors, deejay entertainment, top 10 trophies and special awards. Participant and spectator admission is free, donations are appreciated. All contributions go to Camp Happy Days.

• The weekly, informal Porsche Club of America-Palmetto Region breakfast will be 8-9:30 a.m. at Sunflower Cafe, 2366 Ashley River Road in Charleston. Other breakfasts this month are Aug. 13, 20 and 27.

• The British Car Club of Charleston invites the public to its monthly gathering at Charleston Cars & Coffee at Towne Centre in Mount Pleasant. Join club members with their vehicles to “kick tires, tell stories and talk about the latest projects.”

• Lowcountry Muscle Car club will sponsor Open Cruise-in “Corvette Night” 4:30-7 p.m. at Sonic Drive-In, 660 College Park Road in Goose Creek. The event is open to all makes, models and years, import or American. The club typically hosts a “feature” night the first Saturday of the month. The front 13 spaces at Sonic are marked off for the featured vehicles, first come-first served.

• Coastal Carolina Corvette Club will hold its monthly meeting at Crews Chevrolet on Rivers Avenue. Social hour starts at 2:30 p.m. with the meeting to begin at 3 p.m. Bring a chair. Visit www.4cccc.org.

• The monthly meeting of the Lowcountry chapter, Vintage Chevrolet Club of America, will take place at Easterby’s Seafood Grill, 198 Ashley River Road in Charleston off S.C. Highway 61. Call chapter director Neil Humbert at 843-224-3692.

• Street Rods Unlimited Inc. will sponsor an evening cruise-in at Sonic Drive-In, 660 College Park Road in Goose Creek. The event starts at 5 p.m. at the entrance to Crowfield Plantation. • The Summerville Third Thursday Open Cruise-in will be 5-8 p.m. at Guerin’s Pharmacy, 140 S. Main St. in Summerville. Guerin’s Pharmacy is reserving 10 or more spaces for auto clubs, first come-first served. Be there from 4:30-5:15 p.m. to get a good spot.

• Sea Islands Cars and Coffee will be 9-11 a.m. at Freshfields Village, at the crossroads of Kiawah, Seabrook and Johns islands. • The sixth annual Steel Pony Charity Ride & Car Show will take place 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at Mullet Hall Equestrian Center on Johns Island. Registration, 11 a.m.-noon, is $15. Awards are at 3 p.m. Classes include cars 1942 and earlier, ’43-’59, ’60-’71, ’72-’90, ’91-2000, ’01-’17; street rods; trucks; VWs; emergency vehicles; motorcycles; open category; People’s Choice; and Show Stopper. • Going for Broke 2016 will take place 3 p.m. Friday to 4 p.m. Sunday at Florence County Agricultural Fairgrounds in Florence. This is an open show geared towards all auto enthusiasts. • The Men’s Ministry of Shady Grove Baptist Church presents the sixth annual Fish Fry and Yard Sale with accompanying car show, 3384 Oakland Church Road in Gum Springs, Va.
