Two men were rescued near Sullivan’s Island on Wednesday night after strong winds caused their boat to overturn.

The Charleston Branch Pilots’ Association reported that around 8 p.m. Fleet Captain John Miles spotted the boat and a cooler floating in the water.

Miles and two other officials then saw the two men floating in the water wearing their life jackets and were able to pull the two men aboard Fort Johnson, a Charleston Pilot boat.

The two had been in the water for about an hour before they were rescued.
