Two Charleston County jail officers were fired after two teens broke out of the juvenile detention center last month.
Two 16-year-olds pried open a window at the juvenile facility on Leeds Avenue early on June 15, tied a bed sheet to a table and lowered themselves to the ground. They were captured later that day.
A deputy and supervisor were placed on administrative leave after the breakout. They were fired June 20 “for violation of Sheriff’s Office policy and procedures,” Maj. Eric Watson said.
