Today’s forecast: Hot with a chance of rain, thunderstorms

It’s only going to get hotter.

According to the National Weather Service, temperatures Saturday will climb to a high near 92 and heat index values as high as 102.

There is a slight chance — 20 percent — for showers and thunderstorms after 1 p.m.

But by Saturday night, the potential for rain and thunderstorms grows to 30 percent, according to forecasts from the weather service.

Saturday night should be mostly cloudy, with a low around 79.

The possibility of rain doesn’t go away Sunday.

The weather service is calling for a chance for showers and thunderstorms Sunday. Chance of precipitation is 40 percent.

Otherwise, Sunday is expected to be partly sunny with a high near 93.

Heat index values could be as a high as 103.

By Sunday night, temperatures should dip to a low around 79.

The weather service predicts it will be mostly cloudy, with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms.

Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.
