What: “Parallel Thoughts/Single Minded: The Art Quilts of Marlene O'Bryant-Seabrook” with “Prose by EOB3” is a retrospective exhibition showcasing selected quilts by local fiber artist, Dr. Marlene O'Bryant-Seabrook, with prose by her son and published author, Evans O'Bryant, III. “Threading Color” is a mixed-media exhibit that blends paint, fiber elements and thread by N.C. artist Nora Phillips. The public is invited to attend a free reception hosted by the artists in the evening.

What: The Charleston Gaillard Center, in partnership with WSCS Live 5 and 105.5 The Bridge, will host this Sizzling Summer Extravaganza, offering one pair of tickets in the orchestra for $50 for 22 shows being performed at the center. Tickets must be purchased in-person.

What: Give your furry friend some relief from the heat at this month’s Yappy Hour event at the off-leash dog park, with multi-decade and multi-genre hits from Return of the MAC, beverages (adult and non-) will be available for purchase and the canines can stay cool while playing and swimming in the lake. Outside alcohol and coolers are prohibited.

What: Holistic Education and Art Recreation Therapy (HEART), a creative activity program for adults with specials needs, will host the “Happy Days” HeART Show to showcase the students’ multi-media work with assistance from local artists and volunteers. This event is a throwback to the “Happy Days” series set in the 1950s and The Fonz will make several appearances, with live music from jazz/swing/vaudeville group The V-Tones and more. HEART’s Handmade will also have a pop-up shop showcasing arts and crafts and other treats for sale, made by the “Heartists.”
