What: Books, DVDs and CDs will be available with prices starting at $1 for paperbacks and $3 for hardback books. Genres include mysteries, romances, classics, children’s books, local histories, cookbooks and a variety of nonfiction topics. Children’s books start at just $0.50 each.

What: The Charleston Alternative to Incarceration Panel and Discussion will feature speakers from the Charleston County School District, Richland County Public Defenders Office and Girls Rock Charleston, with executive director Ruben Austria and youth leaders from Community Connections for Youth, a New-York based youth organization that develops community-driven alternatives to incarceration. Conversations will include reduction of school suspension rates and how to keep kids in school and out of the criminal justice system.
