What: The City of Charleston Office of Cultural Affairs will present “Sixteen Crowns: Manifestations of Ase” at the City Gallery from July 15-August 28. According to the Yoruba people and culture, sixteen is the number of the cosmos and the exhibit reflects a system of belief and virtue that has sustained millions of Yoruba men and women throughout the African diaspora. All works were created by Yoruba artists. An opening reception will feature a curatorial lecture by Dr. Ade Ofunniyin and Jody Berman.

What: The 11th annual Palette & Palate Stroll is dedicated to the appreciation of fine art, culinary creations and philanthropy. Eleven local galleries will be paired with some of the finest downtown restaurants, with proceeds to benefit art education.
