A Summerville man has been arrested on a murder charge in connection with a fatal shooting last week in Eutawville.
Dwendell Lamont High, 24, turned himself in to the Orangeburg County Sheriff’s Office to face charges of murder, attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. He was the last of five suspects arrested in the homicide.
High, whose last known address was on Bull Run Drive, is believed to have been the driver of a vehicle occupied by suspects in the killing of a 46-year-old woman on July 19. The car crashed as deputies chased it.
He was originally sought on a warrant of failure to stop for a blue light, but the Sheriff’s Office later authorized the murder charge.
The four others charged with murder are Za’Quan Markel Taste, 18; Treshawn Markeese Jenkins, 22; Matthew Kamin Brown, 20; and Frank Jemerrl Jarzman Smoot, 20.
