Ridgeville-area man listed as missing and endangered

Marc Saunders is listed as missing and endangered.

A Ridgeville-area man has not talked to his family since he was released from a hospital two weeks ago.

Marc Godwin Saunders, 61, of Saunders Road is listed as missing and endangered, according to the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office.

Saunders’ brother, who lives out of state, told deputies he has been unable to learn anything about his brother since he found out he was released from Trident Hospital July 1, according to an incident report. He had been hospitalized for evaluation of mental health issues.

Saunders’ brother told deputies he has been calling his cellphone and not getting an answer. He said his brother doesn’t have access to a vehicle.

Deputies said they checked Saunders’ house and couldn’t find him.

His family believes they found his glasses at a house on Barlow Street in Summerville where Saunders used to live. They suspect he also might have been at Westover Apartments on Palmetto Park Road in West Ashley.

Saunders is 5 feet 8 inches, 140 pounds, with gray hair and blue eyes.
