North Charleston police investigating fatal shooting

North Charleston police continue to investigate a fatal shooting that happened shortly before midnight Friday.

Detectives have learned that the victim and several others were outside of 2216 Rebecca St. when the suspect began walking toward them, said Spencer Pryor, a police spokesman, in an email. The suspect shouted something at the group, which shouted back.

The suspect reportedly ran from the group while firing a handgun and struck the victim who was pronounced dead at the scene, Pryor said. The suspect is described as a black male, about 6 feet, 160 pounds with short hair, white or beige cargo shorts and a white tank top.
