Man shot and wounded in North Charleston

A man was shot and wounded in North Charleston on Friday morning.

The shooting was reported around 6:30 a.m. at 2230 Suffolk St., North Charleston police spokesman Spencer Pryor said. The area is north of Azalea Drive and west of Cosgrove Avenue.

The man was taken to Medical University Hospital for treatment.

Witnesses said they saw a man hanging around and driving off in a silver Chevrolet Impala, Pryor said. The possible suspect was described as black, about 6 feet tall and about 200 pounds, wearing a white shirt.
