A Huger man bought his first lottery ticket and won $250,000, according to the S.C. Education Lottery.
“Something told me to go get a ticket,” he said. He told lottery officials he ran out on his lunch break to a convenience store in North Charleston and picked out the winning VIP Cash Club ticket.
Stunned, he went back to work and didn’t say a word to anyone about his quarter-million-dollar win. “But I was smiling the whole day,” he said.
Two top prizes of $250,000 remain in the $10 VIP Cash Club game. The odds of winning $250,000 are 1 in 696,000.
For selling the claimed ticket, the Circle K at 5255 Rivers Ave. received a commission of $2,500.
