EARLIER: One patient has been transported to the Medical University of South Carolina for treatment, said Michael Harper, a supervisor at the Charleston County Consolidated 911 Center.
County Emergency Medical Services units were first called to the scene of the crash at 6:45 p.m., Harper said.
EARLIER: An accident on I-26 eastbound near mile marker 219 briefly snarled traffic around 7 p.m.
Lance Cpl. Matthew Southern, a spokesman for the South Carolina Highway Patrol’s Troop 6, said units were at the scene but that jurisdiction has been handed over to the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office.
Michael Harper, a supervisor at the Charleston County Consolidated 911 Center, said the crash involved three vehicles but did not have any further details.
It is not known whether anyone was injured in the crash.
