Hanahan man who hid cameras in dressing rooms to photograph children sentenced

Jason Blair

A Hanahan man who hid cameras in dressing rooms to photograph children has been sentenced to prison, according to the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office.

Jason Adam Blair, 41, of Dickson Avenue pleaded guilty on Friday to five counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor and five counts of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor. Circuit Court Judge Deadra Jefferson sentenced him to seven years on all counts, to run concurrently.

In August 2013, Berkeley County Detective Kevin Murphy intercepted child pornography that Blair had sent over an internet file-sharing network. Investigators with the S.C. Attorney General’s Office carried out a search warrant and found more than 10,000 sexual pictures and videos of children on Blair’s computer and external hard drive. It appeared Blair had hidden cameras in dressing rooms in stores such as Target and had taken pictures of children at playgrounds.

Blair was arrested in November 2013. He forfeited his computer equipment and camera and will have to register as a sex offender when he’s released.
