Dispatch: Child taken to hospital after falling into pond

A child was taken to the hospital Tuesday after falling into a North Charleston pond, according to dispatch officials.

North Charleston police responded around 2 p.m. to a “pond area” off Bonaparte Drive, near Dorchester Road.

The child stepped away from a grandparent’s yard and ended up in the pond, according to spokesman Spencer Pryor. The child’s condition has not been released.
