Coast Guard rescues three people after boat capsizes near Isle of Palms

The Coast Guard and Sea Tow Charleston coordinated the rescue Thursday of three mariners about six-miles east of Isle of Palms. The Coast Guard used an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter and a 45-foot response boat from Station Charleston.

The Coast Guard pulled three people from the ocean near the Isle of Palms on Thursday morning after their boat capsized.

A 25-foot center-console boat capsized about 5.5 miles off the coast, putting three people in the water, according to Coast Guard Charleston staff. The Coast Guard got the call at 10:56 a.m. and sent a rescue helicopter and a small boat. A Navy aircraft assisted.

All three people were reported to be all right.
