An arrest has been made a year and a half after three men were wounded by gunfire in Lincolnville.
Delani Franklin Simmons, 21, of Edwards Drive in Ladson is charged with three counts of attempted murder and one count of possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
Three men were wounded when a mobile home on Mason Street was shot up shortly before 5 p.m. Dec. 16, 2014, according to the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office. Simmons showed up at Summerville Medical Center later that night with a gunshot wound. The Sheriff’s Office said at the time they were investigating whether he was connected to the gunfire in Lincolnville.
Dorchester County deputies said they suspected the shooting was related to a double homicide a day earlier in a garage off Miles Jamison Road near Summerville. They charged Simmons with two counts of murder in the deaths of Earnest Richmond, 19, and Shaquille Sanders, 21. Those charges were dropped, and Simmons pleaded guilty to pointing a weapon. He was sentenced to three years’ probation and community service under the state’s Youthful Offender Act, according to court records.
Simmons was arrested Thursday in connection with the Lincolnville shootings and booked into the Charleston County jail.
Simmons had been charged with attempted murder in July 2013 and armed robbery in May 2011 and those charges dropped as well, according to court records.
