Snee Farm, which is aiming to win its third straight title, took the lead after the first day of the Coastal Carolina Aquatic Association’s 49th annual City Swim Meet at the Goose Creek Community Pool and Crowfield Golf and Country Club on Friday night.
Snee Farm (690) leads second-place Newington (608) by 84 points. Coosaw Creek is third with 515, Hobcaw Yacht Club (477.50) is fourth and James Island (458) is in fifth.
The first meet record set of the weekend was in the 11-12 girls free relay. Snee Farm’s Anna Misciagna, Ann Thompson, Ashley Windham and Sophie Frece swam in a time of 1 minute 51.53 seconds.
The meet, including swimmers from 19 neighborhood teams from around the Lowcountry, continues Saturday with the 7-8 and 9-10 age groups competing at 9:10 a.m. The 13-14 and 15-18 age groups go at 2:10 p.m. on Sunday.
