David Weekley Homes will hold its annual CARE program July 15-Aug. 1 to collect school supply donations in greater Charleston.

Care stands for “Committed to Building Community Character, Active in Our Community, Responsible to Our Community and Enhancing Our Community.” The commitment encourages “a culture of caring and contribution” between team members, customers and community. Team members complete “hundreds of projects,” and The David Weekley Family Foundation has donated more than $100 million to worthy causes in the past 20 years.

“Through CARE, we are hosting a Back to School Supply Drive to help children by equipping them with the tools needed to be successful in the classroom,” the builder says.

Donations in the Charleston area will go to Communities in Schools. The organization, according to David Weekley Homes, strives to help “children achieve success through continued education.”

The builder will collect contributions at its division office, 498 Wando Park Blvd. in Mount Pleasant, or at any David Weekley model home. Drop-off times are 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Saturday and 1-6 p.m. Sunday at model homes and 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday at the division office.

Desired school supplies include pens, pencils, notebooks, ruled paper, Post-it notes, manila folders, backpacks, Sharpies, paper towels, hand sanitizer, highlighters, glue sticks, dry-erase pens, tape, construction paper and folders.
