Sixth District Rep. James Clyburn recently called for discussions on racism in the country.

He mentioned a talk that he had with his grandson about conduct when stopped for a traffic violation.

Instead of emphasizing a show of respect for the officer and to the law, Rep. Clyburn said, “You got to deny your manhood if you want to ensure that you come home alive.”

Seems to me that is the wrong conversation.

From that the young man will infer that the police are the enemy and will grow up with a chip on his shoulder.

Just like Grandad.
