We islanders, James and Johns, need relief from the traffic congestion caused by the city forcing over-development on us. Since the chance of finishing I-526 has been removed, and there is no mention of at least the Johns Island connector, I will vote No and hopefully the rest of us on the islands will help kill the county sales tax referendum.

We are tired of being left behind as Mount Pleasant and North Charleston receive the majority of funds.

With no I-526, or at least part of it, to alleviate the Folly Road and Johns Island congestion, we say no. We want specifics on the referendum, Johns Island Connector, flyover on 17, Folly Road help and South Windermere intersection improvement.

But at a minimum: James Island has a connector, now Johns Islands needs one — or a no vote.
