Letter: The ABCs

  • Updated

As the city of Cleveland braces for lawlessness in the streets during the GOP Convention next month, it may be worthwhile to look at the ABCs of mobocracy.

A) The First Amendment protects “the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.”

B) Peaceable assembly does not include hurling bricks and burning objects at police officers, assaulting innocent citizens, screaming filthy obscenities, spitting on people and destroying public property.

C) Rioters often are referred to as “protesters” by the left-wing media, but in truth they are anarchists and nihilists. They should be met with overwhelming police resistance and, if necessary, deadly force.
