Thank you, Frank Knapp, for standing up to SCE&G concerning rate increases. I have watched SCE&G for years, and it always gets what it wants — one-half of what it asks for.

It’s pretty clear that the blank check also extends to insurance companies. I have said for years that insurance companies in the state are essentially unregulated. Officials who are supposed to look after us allow a company to come in and cancel 10,000 homeowners’ policies and charge unreal rates for home and car.

Our governor should step in and do something. Not only do SCE&G and insurance companies need to stop rate increases, they need to repeal them.
