In the early ’70s, my young family camped at Sand Dollar on the Isle of Palms, a paradise. We bought a house on Kiawah in 1979, in large part because of the responsible planning for growth. Subsequent owners altered that plan and built the Ocean Course too near the beach.
The developers of Wild Dunes ruined their paradise and now their island continues to erode and impact all of us, including turtles and other wildlife.
When will we ever learn that our South Carolina beaches are a treasure to be protected?
