A July 24 editorial included a statement: “Council should take a lesson from the chaos that followed I-526’s revival, and jettison this project again.”
Your editor failed to mention that the July 23 edition, on Page A10 included results of a Chamber of Commerce poll that showed 60 percent of Charleston County voters are in favor of completing I-526. Apparently the editor believes his word is more valid than 60 percent of registered Charleston County voters.
We need I-526 completed. Why not take the democratic approach and put the issue on the November ballot? That way the “voter on the street” can participate in the decision.
