The July 17 article “Two suspects charged with murder after N. Charleston home invasion” indicated that one of the suspects was denied bail on all charges except for the charge of possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime. So my eyes fail me?

Turn back the clock on Jahmal Green Jr. who is charged with killing Eric Brantley in North Charleston this past April. Green was on probation after pleading guilty to first-degree assault. While on probation he was caught by police with a rifle stuffed down his pant leg yet no one charged him in violation of his probation. He was set free on the streets again.

Who can explain how and why those with guns are given bail or not held to task if caught with a gun while on probation?

How does this insanity exist in a society that is plagued by gun violence while at the same time asking for stricter gun laws?

Stop the insanity.

Crime with a gun, go to jail, no bail.
