About 250 South Carolina children who are battling cancer are at Camp Happy Days this week enjoying arts and crafts, water sports and fireworks.

The camp, located in Summerton, focuses on fun for the children and also gives them an opportunities to make friends, said Cindy Hay Johnson, the executive director of Camp Happy Days.

The camp is a free program for families of children with cancer, and relies on donations to keep it going. For more information, visit amzn.com/w/3AVFBJEA65ZJZ.

A new app launched by a state agency will give the public access to more information on restaurants and other establishments.

The S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control announced last week that its S.C. Food Grades app will provide users with scores and reports for all DHEC-permitted retail food establishments, including restaurants, grocery stores, food trucks, convenience stores and schools.

Recent inspection scores and other information related to food safety will be available using the app.
