When Hootie & the Blowfish performs this summer in Charleston, the opening band won’t be just any group: It will be Sister Hazel.

A publicist for Sister Hazel confirmed the lineup Saturday.

Shows are scheduled for Aug. 5 and 6 at Volvo Car Stadium, formerly known as Family Circle Stadium.

Like Hootie & the Blowfish, Sister Hazel rose to musical fame in the ‘90s as an alt-rock band.

Sister Hazel, which formed in Gainsville, Florida, is best known for songs like “All for You” and “Your Winter.”

And, like Darius Rucker, the group has made the switch to country.

Along with some of their newer songs, concert-goers can still expect to hear some Sister Hazel favorties, according to a news release.

Hootie & the Blowfish plays a concert at the Daniel Island venue every summer thanks in large part to frontman Darius Rucker who hails from Charleston.

The performances are part of the 14th Annual Homegrown Concert, which doubles as a fundraiser to collect back-to-school supplies for the Charleston County School District every year.

Tickets, which are $33-$57, go are available through all Ticketmaster outlets, and at 800-677-2293.

Tickets can also be purchased at the Volvo Car Stadium box office, 161 Seven Farms Drive, from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on weekdays.
