Andy Paras graduated from Ball State University in 1996 with a degree in journalism. He's called the South home ever since, earning multiple state press association awards from both Virginia and South Carolina. He covered crime and courts for The Greenville News for five years before joining The Post and Courier in 2004. Since then he's covered Colleton and Berkeley county government and crime. His commitment to transparency and accessibility in journalism, as well as his addiction to Twitter, led him to become The Post and Courier's first social media coordinator in October 2011. He lives in Summerville with his wife and two daughters.
