Patriot Point reopens; reduces admission fee Friday only
Patriots Point Naval and Maritime Museum is open again.
The waterfront tourist attraction closed Sunday for a three-part project that included returning the World War II destroyer Laffey beside the aircraft carrier Yorktown, relocating the submarine Clamagore to a berth near the marina and upgrading and replacing aging utilities.
Patriots Point reopened at 10 a.m. today, a full day ahead of schedule, executive director Mac Burdette said.
“We are excited to get back to business as usual at Patriots Point,” he said. “We appreciate the public’s patience while we brought the Laffey home and implemented these important upgrades. We look forward to welcoming everyone back.”
To mark its reopening, Patriots Point has reduced admission today to $10 for adults and $5 for children 6-10. General admission is regularly $18. Military members in uniform and children under 6 are always admitted for free.
