PET STORY: Mr. Winston a versatile pet

Shadow (front) and Mr. Winston were the best of friends until Shadow passed away.

Mr. Winston came to me via my vet. He was a stray and probably 5 weeks old when I got him. I really didn't need another cat, but he was so small and cute! About four months later, another kitten came to my door in a terrible rain storm. Enter Shadow, black as night and about 8 weeks old.

Winston and Shadow became very fast friends. Shadow would tackle Winston and he would let him. They were best buddies.

At about 9 months old, Shadow got very sick and I had to put him down. It broke my heart and Winston's. He would sleep with me every night instead of going out. Sometimes, he thought my feet were Shadow under the covers and looked for him everywhere.

After only two weeks, I had to get another kitten. That kitten love is so hard to lose. Enter JD. He looks just like Winston and Winston lets him tackle and jump all over him, just like before.

I have never seen an animal so versatile. Accepting another so quickly, of course, he could go out to escape JD's constant playfulness. They are great friends now, sleeping together, cleaning each other all the time and playing.
