Marsh promoted to Scana CEO

Kevin Marsh has been promoted to chairman and chief executive officer of Scana Corp., owner of South Carolina Electric & Gas Co. and the only Fortune 500 business based in the state. The change took effect Dec. 1. He succeeds William Timmerman, who retired Nov. 30.
Previously, Marsh was president and chief operating officer of Scana and has served in various executive-level positions at the holding company over the past 26 years, including chief financial officer 1996-2006. He also was president at SCE&G. He has a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Georgia.
In other changes, Steve Byrne has been named president of SCE&G's generation business, and Keller Kissam has been named president of SCE&G's retail operations, also effective Dec. 1.
Byrne has 27 years of experience in the nuclear power industry. He has been with SCE&G since 1995, most recently as executive vice president for generation and transmission and chief operating officer. He has a bachelor's degree in engineering from Wayne State University.
Kissam has been with the company for 23 years in various capacities, including vice president of SCE&G's gas operations electric operations. Previously, he was senior vice president of retail operations. He has a bachelor's degree from The Citadel.
