Planes to spray for mosquitoes

Airplanes will be spraying standing water for aquatic-stage mosquitoes today through Monday between 6 a.m. and 8 p.m., according to a news release from Charleston County Mosquito Control.

Areas to be sprayed are Drum Island, Daniel Island, Goat Island, Dewees Island, Morris Island, Block Island, Dixon Island, Kiawah Island, Sullivan's Island, James Island, Folly Beach, Isle of Palms, Mount Pleasant, West Ashley, North Charleston, Ravenel, the Charleston Naval Weapons Station and the islands between Folly Beach and James Island.
