The Dave Matthews Band will rock the rafters Nov. 17 at the North Charleston Coliseum as part of their U.S. arena tour this fall.
An online ticket request period begins at 6 tonight and concludes at noon Sept. 20 at www.warehouse.davematthews band.com. Tickets for the coliseum concert go on sale to the general public Sept. 24.
With its summer tour wrapping up, the band will stop in New Orleans to perform at the special NFL pregame show to be simulcast live on NBC and NFL Network at 7:30 tonight. The program leads into the season opener between the New Orleans Saints and the Minnesota Vikings at the Superdome.
Veteran touring rockers for more than 20 years, the Dave Matthews Band -- Carter Beauford (drums), Stefan Lessard (bass), Dave Matthews (vocals, guitar) and Boyd Tinsley (violin) -- has sold a collective 37 million CDs and DVDs.
Judge sentences Snooki for antics
Calling her "a Lindsay Lohan wannabe," a judge fined "Jersey Shore" star Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi $500 and ordered her to perform two days of community service after she pleaded guilty to disturbing others on a New Jersey beach in July.
Her lawyer said Wednesday that Polizzi was under the influence of alcohol when she stumbled around the beach in Seaside Heights, using loud language that disturbed other beachgoers.
Polizzi apologized to police and anyone else she bothered, claiming her behavior was not scripted as part of the show, even though cameras were rolling. As part of a negotiated plea deal, Polizzi pleaded guilty to one count of interfering with the quiet enjoyment of the beach -- essentially disturbing the peace. Charges of disorderly conduct and criminal annoyance of others were dropped.
Municipal Judge Damian G. Murray gave her credit for one day of community service that she spent caring for abused and neglected animals at a zoo Sunday.
'SNL' plans launch with Poehler, Perry
"Saturday Night Live" will launch its 36th season Sept. 25 with host Amy Poehler and musical guest Katy Perry.
Poehler is a former "SNL" cast member who will return to make her hosting debut. Perry's No. 1 smash "California Gurls" has become the song of the summer.
NBC says "SNL" will welcome four new cast members this season: Vanessa Bayer, Paul Brittain, Taran Killam and Jay Pharoah.
Cast member Will Forte recently left the show after eight seasons and Jenny Slate left after one season.
Winehouse sings on Jones album
Amy Winehouse is making music again.
Quincy Jones said the five-time Grammy winner's first new track in years will appear on his forthcoming album, "Q: Soul Bossa Nostra."
Winehouse has been known more for her personal problems than her music in recent years, and hasn't issued any new tunes since her critically acclaimed 2006 breakthrough CD, "Back to Black."
The 26-year-old British songstress reunited with producer Mark Ronson to record the 1963 classic "It's My Party" for the album celebrating Jones' past hits. The 77-year-old music mogul produced the original Lesley Gore track.
"Q: Soul Bossa Nostra" also features Usher, Ludacris, Akon, Jamie Foxx, Jennifer Hudson, Mary J. Blige, T-Pain and LL Cool J. The album is set for release in November.
