Workshop set on charter schools
The S.C. Department of Education will conduct a free workshop Oct. 21 for individuals and groups interested in opening a charter school.
The workshop will be held from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at 3710 Landmark Drive, Suite 300, in Columbia.
It will cover topics related to the charter school application process and will provide planning groups with information needed to prepare a high-quality proposal.
Registration is limited to 50 participants, so school planning groups are asked to send no more than two representatives.
Registration must be completed by Oct. 15, but it will close earlier if the workshop is full.
