Wednesday

• The Lowcountry Corvair Association will hold its monthly meeting at Perkins Restaurant, 7542 Rivers Ave. in North Charleston. All Corvair owners and enthusiasts are invited. For more information, contact Donn Pittman at (853) 849-9007 or visit the club’s website at www.lowcountrycorvair.com.

Sept. 11

• The “Sittin on Chrome” car club will present a show 3-9 p.m. at 4401 N. Piggly Wiggly Dr. in North Charleston. Registration, 3-7:30 p.m., includes $15 for club members and $20 a car and $10 a bike for non-members. Spectators are $5. Vehicles include luxury, muscle and sports cars; mini- and full size trucks; sport utilities; motorcycles; “oldies and goodies;” imports; and domestics. Specialty awards for sexiest lady and for best display, interior, paint job, show car/truck and muscle car/truck. Other events include an open mike contest. To get to the show, take Rivers Avenue and veer right at the traffic light at the Hess gas station. The site is in the Days Hill community. Sept. 12

• Coastal Carolina Corvette Club will hold its monthly meeting at the Holiday Inn at 5264 International Blvd., near Tanger Outlet in North Charleston. It will begin at 2:30 p.m. to socialize, with the club meeting to follow at 3 p.m. Members and interested Corvette owners are invited to attend. Note different location. Sept. 15

• Duke’s Barbecue and Bill Bennett Classic Cars will present the Top 10 Open Car Show at Duke’s, 949 Robertson Blvd. in Walterboro. There will be top 10 awards for model years 1900-2011, plus “best in show” sponsored by Blocker Boys. Registration is $5. The events are every third Wednesday or the month with future shows on Oct. 20 and Nov. 17. Sept. 16

• The monthly Third Thursday Cruise-In, formerly known as Cruisin the Georgetown Boardwalk, will be held 6-8 p.m. in Georgetown. Meet at the Thomas Supply parking lot next to Hardee’s on Church St. (U.S. Highway 17). The event is free. Winyah Cruisers is the event sponsor.

Sept. 17

• A Car Display will be held 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at old Myrtle Square Mall in Myrtle Beach. It will be in conjunction with the At the Square Fall Festival of the SASA Shriners 2010. Contact Rusty Jones at (843) 997-8611 or Karl Marzoff at (843) 222-5439 for more information.

Sept. 18

• Coastal Carolina Corvette Club will present the Marchant Chevrolet Open Car, Bike & Truck Show, sponsored by Marchant Chevrolet. The event from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. will be held at Marchant Chevrolet, 5700 Savannah Highway in Ravenel. Registration, which is $10 per vehicle, begins at 11 a.m. Thirty trophies will be awarded by class size. There also will be Sponsor’s Choice trophies. Classes are Corvettes; motorcycles; sport compact; Mustangs; street rods; trucks; and years 1900-62, 1963-71, 1972-89, 1990-2005 and 2006-present. Proceeds to benefit Camp Happy Days. Sept. 19

• The Goodwill Undy 500 motorcycle charity ride will start at 9 a.m. at Low Country Harley-Davidson, 4707 Dorchester Road. Kickstand up at 11 a.m. The ride will cover more than 100 miles across the Charleston area. Entry is $15 per driver and $10 per rider, plus a package of new undergarments and includes the ride and entrance to the afterparty 3-5 p.m. at California Dreaming. Free lunch coupon provided by Sonic. All undergarments collected will go to support veterans at the VA/Goodwill Stand Down in October. All proceeds will go to events and programs designed to benefit local veterans.

Sept. 22

• A Cruise-In will be held 6-9 p.m. at JD’s Steakhouse & Pasta -- formerly 811 Steak & Pasta -- 9674 Ocean Parkway (U.S. Highway 17) in Pawleys Island. There will be ’50s and ’60s music. For more information, call (843) 503-8245.

• Darlington Historic Racing Festival Car Show & Swap Meet will be held at Darlington Raceway. Registration is $25. For more information, call Kenny Shelly at (843) 230-1074.

Sept. 25

• Lowcountry Travelers Car Club of Mount Pleasant will hold its annual car show 8 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Walmart parking lot at Wando Crossing Shopping Center in Mount Pleasant. Registration is $15. Classes are for years 1900-74, motorcycles included. Trophies will be awarded for all classes plus Best in Show. Proceeds will benefit the Children’s Miracle Network at MUSC. • The Golden Leaf Festival Car Show, sponsored by Swamp Fox Old Car Club, will be held in Mullins. Registration, which is $20, will be 9 a.m.-noon. Contact Luther Johnson at (843) 430-0159.

• Cypress Festival-n-Car Show will be held 10 a.m.-3 p.m. on Main Street in Pamplico. There will be arts, crafts, rides and games. Registration is $25. The show organizer is Koss Motorsports.

Oct. 8-9

• A Car and Truck Show for Pontiac, GMC, Buick, Oldsmobile and Cadillac will take place at Hooters restaurant, Myrtle Square Mall in North Myrtle Beach. Registration is $25. The Palmetto chapter of Pontiac/Oakland Club International is the sponsor. Contact Maxie Burns at (864) 293-3668.

Oct. 9

• The 10th Annual Cruise to the Coast Antique & Classic Car/Truck Show, sponsored by Chicora Car Club, will be held 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. at Barefoot Landing in North Myrtle Beach. • Lowcountry Mopars will sponsor an Automotive Browsfest 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at Coastal Carolina Flea Market in Ladson. The event includes an Open Car Show, auto sale corral and parts swap meet. The event benefits Happy Days & Special Times.

• The Sweet Potato Festival Car Show will take place 9 a.m.-3 p.m. in Darlington. Registration, which is $20, is 9 a.m.-noon. Sponsoring the show is the Swamp Fox Old Car Club. Contact Luther Johnson at (843) 430-0159.

Oct. 16

• The 11th Annual Street Thunder Car & Truck Show presented by Coastal Carolina Corvette Club will be 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at Tanger Outlet Center in North Charleston. Proceeds benefit Low Country Orphan Relief.

• The 31st annual Loris Bog Off Festival Car & Truck Show, hosted by the Loris Chamber of Commerce and Hot Rod Promotions, will be held on Main Street in Loris. Registration is 9 a.m.- noon with awards at 3 p.m. Top 50 awards, mayor’s choice, chamber of commerce award, Best of Show car, Best of Show truck. Oct. 21

Oct. 30

• Endless Summer Festival Car Display and Show sponsored by Chicora Car Club will be held in North Myrtle Beach. There will be donations in lieu of entry fee. People’s Choice awards. Proceeds benefit North Myrtle Beach Chamber’s Thanksgiving meals for the needy.

• Palmetto Nationals Car Show will be held 9 a.m.-5 p.m. at Darlington Dragway in Darlington. Track admission is $10, car show registration 8 a.m.- 1 p.m. is $10. Trophies will be presented at 5 p.m. Classic Mopars of the PeeDee is the sponsor.

• Brits & Battleship Car Show, sponsored by the British Motor Club of the Cape, will take place at Battleship Park in Wilmington, N.C. There will be a British section as well as German, Japanese, replicas and American autos. Proceeds benefit the Battleship Preservation Fund.

Nov. 6

• The American Dream Car Show will take place at Habitat for Humanity Berkeley County Restore, 1 Belnap Road in Goose Creek. Pre-registration is $15; the deadline is Oct. 30. Registration 9 a.m.-1 p.m. the day of show is $20. Awards will be given at 3 p.m. Trophies for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place for all classes. Also, awards for Best in Show and People’s Choice.
