To offer tips

Anyone with information about the suspect is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 554-1111.

The man ran out with an undisclosed amount of money. He was last seen running behind a nearby business, according to North Charleston police Capt. Scott Deckard.

The suspect is described as a black male, about 6 feet 1 inch tall, between the ages of 25 and 35. He wore a long-sleeve gray shirt, khaki pants and had either long hair or a wig, Deckard said.

North Charleston police immediately surrounded the credit union while a helicopter searched from the air. A dog team from the Berkeley County Sheriff's Office tried to track the suspect behind a nearby business before the trail ran cold.

It's at least the third time S.C. State Credit Union was robbed since June 2008. It was last robbed in January. A North Charleston man was arrested and charged with bank robbery in that case.
