A 22-year-old man was shot to death at a North Charleston apartment complex late Thursday.

Jhovan Hamilton of North Charleston was pronounced dead at the scene of the 10 p.m. shooting at St. James Crossing apartments at 6520 Dorchester Road, Charleston County Deputy Coroner Kelly Myers said.

Police found Hamilton covered in blood lying on the floor just inside the front door of Apartment 1900D, according to an incident report.

The report refers to the case as a possible home invasion.

Officers and detectives interviewed several witnesses at the scene. The victim's connection to the apartment was not immediately known, North Charleston police Capt. Scott Deckard said.

Deckard said there is no suspect information at this time.
