Tuesday, May 4, 2010

COLUMBIA -- A fourth person has died after two boat crashes in South Carolina.

Multiple media outlets reported the crashes occurred late Saturday night on Lake Murray near Columbia.

The first crash happened between 10 p.m. and 11 p.m. Saturday and killed Kelli Nichole Bullard of Lexington and 24-year-old Amber Golden of Woodville, Ala.

Officials say about 30 minutes later, 22-year-old Matthew Kyle Howk of Columbia died after his 14-foot fishing boat hit a 23-foot craft less than a mile from the first collision.

A second person on the fishing boat, Randall Carter, 36, of Irmo, died Monday at Palmetto Health Richland, said Richland County Coroner Gary Watts.
