Rabies clinics set in coming weeks

The South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control and local veterinarians are offering rabies vaccines at several locations over the next few weeks.

The state Rabies Control Act requires that all dogs and cats have a current vaccination. Upon vaccination, the pet should wear the rabies tag, provided by the veterinarian, around its neck. The licensed veterinarian will provide a certificate of vaccination.

The fee is $3 per animal. Dogs must be on a leash and cats in a box or carrier. All clinics are 9 a.m.-noon.
