Today

The Sixth Annual Dinner and Dance party, hosted by Low Country Mustang Club, will be held 6-9:30 p.m. at Park Circle Community Center in North Charleston. This year’s theme is “American Bandstand.” The cost is $10 per person, and the event is open to any interested people looking for a different night out. Cost includes a barbecue dinner, music and dancing. “The Original Loafers” band will perform 6-7:30 p.m. American Bandstand ’50s, ’60s or ’70s attire encouraged, but not required. Coastal Carolina Corvette Club will hold its monthly meeting at The Point Grill located at 176 Patriots Point Road (Shriners Club) in Mount Pleasant. It will start at 2:30 p.m. for socializing, with the club meeting to begin at 3 p.m. Members and interested Corvette owners are invited to attend. Thursday

The Lowcountry Corvair Association will hold its monthly meeting at 7:30 p.m. at Perkins Restaurant, 7542 Rivers Avenue in North Charleston. All Corvair owners and enthusiasts are invited. March 12-14

An open house and cruise-in will be held at Wheels of Yesteryear, Myrtle Beach’s Muscle Cars and More Museum. The ribbon-cutting will be Friday at 2 p.m. at the museum located at U.S. Highway 501 North near Tanger Outlet Mall. During the open house weekend, admissions to the museum will be discounted to $5, and children 8 and younger will be admitted free. The cruise-in will be Saturday starting at 11 a.m. Cecil Chandler is the master of ceremonies. Prizes will be given away for participating car owners. Proceeds from concession sales will benefit Promise Land Crisis Center.

March 12-13

Suncoast Cruisers will hold its annual Back to the Beach Car Show 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at Ft. Fisher Recreation Area in Wilmington, N.C. Registration is $25. Cars are years 1985 and older. The event will be held rain or shine.

March 13

“Lowcountry Muscle Car,” a new local club, will be hosting a car cruise beginning at 3:30 p.m. All American muscle cars are welcome. The group will meet at the McElveen dealership at Interstate 26 exit 199 in Summerville and will cruise to Pro-tek Auto Refinishing.

March 13-14

The third annual Above Reality Auto and Bike show will be held at the Santee Outlets, 1500 Village Square Blvd. in Santee. Live performance by Creekside. Sponsors include Port City Wraps, Cycleworks, Drop Jaw and Dale’s Equipment Transport Inc. For more information, call (843) 864-1861.

March 18

The annual Run to the Sun Car Show hosted by PeeDee Street Rodders will be held at Old Myrtle Beach Mall, 2501 Kings Highway (U.S. Highway 17 Business) in Myrtle Beach. March 24

Charleston-Lowcountry Region of the Antique Automobile Club of America will host its first car show of the season 6-8:30 p.m. at Joe Bessinger’s Bar B Que, 1114 College Park Road in Summerville. Registration for show entries is $5. Classes include years 1900-42, 1943-59, 1960-72 and 1973-2010; Corvettes; imports; low riders/tuners; motorcycles; Mustangs; street rods; and trucks. March 26-27

The Southern Drag Racing Association will hold its 25th Annual Car Show 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Texas Roadhouse/Super Kmart parking lot at 8571 Rivers Ave. in North Charleston. The show will include race cars, junior dragsters, street, street rods, imports and motorcycles. There will be music and vendors. Admission is free. All proceeds will be donated to Camp Happy Days, “Kids Kickin’ Cancer.” The association will hold a Car Show Preview 7-10 p.m. on March 26 at Hooters Restaurant in North Charleston. April 9 -10

The Dixieland Cruisers’ 22nd annual Open Car Show will be held behind Savannah Mall in Savannah, Ga. Pre-registration is $15. Day of show registration 8 a.m.-noon is $20. Awards presentation is at 3 p.m. For more information, call Sheila at (912) 748-4005.

April 15

Cruisin’ the Georgetown Boardwalk will be held 6-9 p.m. on Front Street in Georgetown. The free event is hosted by Winyah Cruisers.

April 16-18

The Rims on the River car show will take place in downtown Wilmington, N.C. Last year, more than 500 cars and motorcycles dating 1980 and older lined the streets of the historic downtown area on Front to Orange streets. Admission charge for vehicles is $5. Pre-event parties will be held April 16.

The car show is April 17. Vehicle placement begins at 9 a.m. with show hours from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The show concludes with an awards presentation. The “Rims on the River Hot Rod Lunch and Brunch” will be held April 18. For more information, visit www.rimsontheriver.com.

April 17

Coastal Carolina Corvette Club will present its Third Annual “Vettes Doin Charleston” all-Corvette Show from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Tanger Outlet Center parking lot on International Boulevard. Registration will be 10 a.m. until noon, with awards at 3 p.m. The pre-registration fee, good until April 3, is $25 and includes a show T-shirt (after April 3, the fee is $25 without a T-shirt). There also will be a Scored Judged show for an additional $5. The event will have prizes and a silent auction. The nine classes are years 1953-62, 1963-67, 1968-82, 1984-90, 1991-96, 1997-2000, 2001-04, 2005-09 and Resto Mod. Additional awards will be given for best of show, interior, engine, paint and club participation. For more information visit www.4cccc.org.

NC Stangs will hold its first Open Car Show at 10 a.m. at ISM Inc., 2a Huntsman Place across from Biltmore Iron & Metal in Asheville, N.C. There will be 10 judging classes as well as Best In Show. Members and nonmembers welcome. NC Stangs describes itself as a “family-oriented car club for Mustang enthusiasts.” For more information or to register online, visit ncstangs.net.
